Transcript: NFTs in Games? (Bonus Clip)

Listen to Liron Shapira on The Startup Project podcast discuss the real-world utility of NFTs in gaming. In this bonus clip, Liron critiques the core value proposition of item portability between different games, questioning whether this is a problem that actually needs solving. He argues that gameplay, not tokenomics, should be the primary focus for game developers, challenging the idea that blockchain technology fundamentally changes the player experience.

Host: What about NFT first games? Speaker: So the I guess the game pitch is, you know, you worked hard to earn this NFT item through your skill in this game and now you're going to go play another game, right? So don't you wish that you could still have like a comparable thing in that other game, right? So that's supposed to be the pitch.

Host: Yeah, I mean gameplay should be the pitch, right? Speaker: Like that that's I I guess you've made this point with a littleum as well, I think in one of your tweets, you are you have to advertise your product, right?

Like why your product is good. But most of the websites really advertise why their token is good.

Speaker: If the premise is I'm going to play two different games by two different developers and I I worked hard to level up my character and invest in one game, well, maybe it's fine that I start from scratch in the next game, right?

Like how is it suddenly like crypto has made us like such geniuses that we think it makes sense to like not start from scratch in new games.
